Earl Grey Old Fashioned – ‘Earl’y to Rise

You can start or end the day with this rich, buttery, shortbread-infused old fashioned flavored with Earl Grey simple syrup and lavender bitters. It’s a rich dessert cocktail with lovely floral and bergamot notes. This is a must try to tea lovers and Anglophiles!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz shortbread cookie-infused bourbon*
  • ½ oz Earl Grey simple syrup**
  • 7 drops Scrappy’s lavender bitters
  • 12 drops 18.21 Earl Grey bitters
  • Garnish: shortbread cookie and lemon/orange peel

Instructions
 

  • Combine bourbon, simple and bitters in a mixing glass and add ice. Stir until well chilled and strain into a rocks glass with a large rock. Garnish with a cookie and citrus peel.

** Earl Grey Simple Syrup: Add two Earl Grey tea bags to 1 cup of hot water. Let steep 5 minutes and remove. Add 1 cup of sugar and stir until dissolved. Pour into a clean jar and store in the fridge up to 4 weeks.
