Bourbon Affogato

Bourbon-ify the easiest summer dessert ever with this Kentucky take on the Italian affogato – a scoop  of vanilla ice cream doused with warm espresso and served immediately. Add a bit of bourbon, a smidge of pecan liqueur and you’re on the way to the easiest decadent dessert in your repertoire.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ oz warm espresso
  • 1 ½ oz bourbon I used Woodford Reserve
  • ½ oz Rivulet pecan liqueur
  • 1 dash chocolate bitters
  • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • Garnish: chocolate shavings

Instructions
 

  • Put two small scoops of vanilla ice cream in a chilled wine or coupe glass. Combine warm espresso, bourbon and Rivulet and pour over the ice cream. Top with chocolate shavings and serve immediately with a spoon.
