Grapefruit and hibiscus tame one another to pair with tequila in this riff on a highball. Bright and summery in color and taste, it's a feast for the eyes and a simple build-in-glass cocktail to get you through the afternoon.

  • 2 oz grapefruit juice
  • 1.5 oz tequila blanco
  • ½ oz hibiscus simple syrup
  • ½ oz limoncelleo
  • 10 drops Crude bitters “Pooter” smoke and salt bitters
  • Grapefruit soda to top
  • Garnish: Lemon thyme fresh grapefruit


  • Combine grapefruit juice, tequila, hibiscus simple syrup, limoncello and bitters to a Collins glass and stir to combine. Add ice, top with grapefruit soda and garnish with lemon thyme and fresh grapefruit.
