St Patrick's Day Cocktail, green with chocolate garnish

Tipsy Pixie - A Bourbon Women St Patrick's Day Cocktail

Picture of Heather Wibbels, Cocktail Contessa, pouring a cocktailHeather Wibbels
This creamy, fun concoction is a hint of whimsy and a celebration of all things Irish – a little whiskey, a little cream, and some chocolate at the end of the rainbow. To take this over the top, garnish with crushed chocolate mint cookies - if you’ve still got any. It’s a whiskey drink that’s here to play and doesn’t take itself seriously.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz cream
  • 1.5 oz bourbon
  • 0.75 oz Faretti Chocolate liqueur (you can use any chocolate liqueur, but Faretti has a rich pastry flavor to it and pairs well as we’re going for that cookie taste)
  • 0.5 simple syrup
  • 0.25 crème de menthe use the green kind to get this lovely pale green color
  • Garnish: crushed chocolate mint cookies or a single mint leaf floated on the top

Instructions

  • Add the cocktail ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake well to combine and double strain into a chilled coupe glass that’s been rimmed with crushed chocolate mint cookies OR carefully float a single mint leaf on top.

Notes

For a batch of four, combine 6 oz cream, 6 oz bourbon, 3 oz Faretti chocolate liqueur, 2 oz simple syrup and 1 oz crème de menthe in a mason jar. Add ice and shake briskly for 30 seconds. Strain into chilled martini or coupe glasses and top with a mint leaf or a chocolate mint cookie. If you’re not serving all 4 at once, strain out the ice so the cocktail doesn’t overdilute while you sip on the first couple. Keep in the fridge until ready to continue to serve.
